Over the past years India by the Nile has brought shining Bollywood shows and workshops, hosted numerous renowned artists of many disciplines, held fashion shows, creative exhibitions, film screenings, literary meetings and presented culinary delights to Egypt. Since its launch in 2013, India by the Nile has been managed by Ila Gupta, the artistic director and producer working with Teamwork Arts and in cooperation with the Indian embassy in Cairo and its consecutive ambassadors. They also work with numerous international festivals, such as their repeated creative additions to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The company also organises many other international events such as the Ishara International Puppet Festival (New Delhi), Hay Festival dedicated to literature (Kerala), ZEE Jaipur International Literature Festival (Jaipur). The company brings Indian arts to over 40 cities in many countries, including India by the Alps (Switzerland), India by the Bosphorus (Turkey), India by the Bay (Hongkong) and Festival of India in Australia.
India by the Nile is one of the many festivals organised by the Delhi-based Teamwork Arts headed by arts manager Sanjoy K Roy. The largest and one of the most colorful events in the country, India by the Nile has carved its strong place in the Egyptian audiences’ minds.
